Ex-Emmerdale star Sian Reese-Williams joins Line Of Duty

She'll complete an all-star cast...

Former Emmerdale fave Sian Reese-Williams has joined the cast of acclaimed BBC thriller Line Of Duty.

The Welsh actress, 36, will join TV heavyweight Stephen Graham in the new series which is due to air next year.

Yes, really, we have to wait THAT long.

Sian portrayed Gennie Walker – who then married Nikhil Sharma – from 2008 to 2013.

Her popular character died when her car plunged down a ravine after being chased by Debs and Cameron – who eventually murdered her by suffocating her.

Since leaving the soap, Sian has starred in Hinterland, Requiem and as chain-smoking, tough-talking DI Cadi John in Hidden.

But she’s now “dead excited” to announce she’s currently filming opposite Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar in award-winning Line Of Duty.

This Is England star Stephen Graham has also been revealed as ‘balaclava man’ in the new series. And if you don’t know who that is, you haven’t been paying attention!

After the BBC confirmed the news, Sian retweeted the message calling the show “brilliant”.

It will be the fifth series of the hugely popular TV drama, created by Jed Mercurio, who was also responsible for recent hit Bodyguard.

It’s not yet known what part Sian will play in the series, but Stella actress Taj Atwal and Ace Bhatti, who played Dr. Yusef Khan in EastEnders, are also part of the new line-up.

Elizabeth Rider, aka DCI Lynette Driver in Doctors, will also appear.
