EastEnders: Denny pays £4 for a coffee and fans say it’s too expensive

Excuse me, how much?!

| Updated:

While most viewers were worried for Dennis Rickman’s safety after he got himself caught up with a new gang in last night’s EastEnders, other eagle-eyed fans were more concerned about the rise in hot drink prices.

As Dennis visited McKlunky’s in the hope he might be able to buy himself a new phone, he tried to impress the gang with his grown up beverage choice, asking the man serving behind the fast food counter for a black coffee.

But when Dennis was asked to hand over £4 for the drink, fans couldn’t believe how much it cost for a coffee in Walford…

While you can easily get a black filter coffee in major coffee shop chains on the high street for less than £2.50, it seems that you’ll be charged a lot more if you live in Albert Square.

Last night saw the start of a new gang-related storyline as Denny found himself caught up in drama when the teenagers selling him his new dodgy phone were almost caught by the police.

The gang then asked Dennis if he wanted to earn himself some cash by hiding their rucksack for them.

Not wanting to land himself in trouble with his new ‘friends’, Sharon’s son did as he was told and hid the bag at The Arches, only for Keanu to find it later.

This week will see Keanu confront Phil about the bag, thinking the stolen phones are his.

But with Phil completely in the dark about what Dennis is up to, he hasn’t got a clue what Keanu is talking about.

The storyline is set to get tense as the week goes on, with Keanu finding himself embroiled in the gang’s drama when he tries to help a scared Denny out.

But by the end of the week it looks like the mechanic could live to regret getting caught in the crossfire as things turn nasty.

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
