Former EastEnders star Jasmyn Banks shows off dramatic new look

She looks unrecognisable!

Former EastEnders star Jasmyn Banks has revealed a very different and “sassy” look since leaving Albert Square.

During her time on the BBC soap playing Alice Branning, she was known for having poker straight locks in a neat bob with a fringe.

But actress Jasmyn has ditched the sleek look and gone au naturel – and we love it!

In fact, the 28-year-old actress has joked that she’ll never go back to the straight look, telling fans she’s thrown her “damn straighteners away”.

This week, brunette Jasmyn showed off her new look on social media when she posted a selfie on her Instagram account.

Alongside a photograph of her long, naturally curly hair, she told her 7,260 followers: “Curly Hur don’t Cur loving my new barnet! Tina at @unrulycurls gave me a cut of dreams and I’m throwing my damn straighteners away.”

On Twitter, she added: “Poor Alice didn’t have the sass for curls.”

Fans loved the transformation, with one simply stating: “Gorgeous nothing else to say.”

Another said “nice curls”, while a third typed: “Oh my, that’s beyond adorable.”

Friend and singer Pixie Lott wrote: “A beautiful revelation.”

Jasmyn has previously joked about her hair, comparing it to Monica’s in Friends when it gets frizzy.

While Jasmyn is best known for playing Alice, she went on to play Pauline in the National Tour of One Man, Two Guvnors for the National Theatre, and most recently played Judith Coleman in Call The Midwife and Elise Mulling in Doctors.

She also starred in Hugh Grant’s recent highly-regarded Jeremy Thorpe biopic A Very English Scandal.

During her time in Walford between 2012 and 2013, her character Alice was involved in some explosive storylines.

She made her first appearance in May 2012 as the long lost daughter of Max and Jack’s brother Derek.

Alice worked as a nanny for Michael Moon and Janine Butcher, until things went very wrong indeed on Halloween Night.

Janine killed her husband in a shocking storyline, but Alice had actually stabbed him in self-defence before his wife finished him off.

Alice was tried for the murder alongside Janine, but they eventually both walked free.
