The actress told The Sun Online: “We’re so excited to become parents. This next step is an adventure, and we’re looking forward to raising a happy, healthy, inquisitive, strong, and accepting child, and starting our own little family, as a trio!”
Robert, 37, added: “I’m over the moon but nervous too! Melissa is so used to kids, and she’ll be an amazing mum instantly.
“There is nobody on earth I’d rather take on this challenge with, and I’m looking forward to every second of it.”
According to the publication, Melissa is in her second trimester and is due to give birth in mid-March.
In July, Melissa announced on Instagram that she and Robert were engaged.
She shared a snap of herself and Robert as she showed off her stunning ring.
Melissa wrote: “#ISaidYaass @mrrobertbrendan. #engaged (sic).”
And the pair revealed three weeks earlier they had given up alcohol.
She wrote: “Normally you’d find us in a pub on a day like today, but we’re newly booze free and drinking FRAPS. And NOT BEER. #crazy (sic).”
Melissa is no stranger to a loved-up post, and recently admitted she was loving Robert more each day.
