The Teacher and former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher would love a Coronation Street role.
The 38-year-old actor, who made his name as Andy Sugden on Emmerdale from 1996 until 2016, has admitted he’s keen to return to his soap roots, and he wouldn’t be opposed to a stint on the cobbles.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “I’d love to go back to a soap. Coronation Street would be great.”

Although there are no firm plans at the moment, Kelvin actually has a family connection to Corrie after his younger brother Brayden Fletcher made an appearance in 2019.
I’d love to go back to a soap. Coronation Street would be great.
He tweeted at the time: “Who saw my little brother @Brayden_Fletch making his tv debut on @itvcorrie last night? He did great! Very proud!”
Brayden’s role saw him terrorising Chesney Brown at the local fast food shop, refusing to pay for food and knocking over the condiments.
Who could Kelvin Fletcher play in Coronation Street?
Although there are no plans for Kelvin to join Corrie, it would be interesting to see him come into the show as a character already connected to someone on the cobbles.
Perhaps he could come in as one of solicitor Adam Barlow’s clients, or maybe even a relative of Nina Lucas from her mum’s side.
We don’t know much about Nina’s mother’s side of the family, so it would be good to explore that as it’s believed her only remaining family member is her uncle Roy.
Weatherfield could also do with a new police officer now Craig has left the force. Or if Jenny ever decided to sell the Rovers, it would be great to see Kelvin play the new landlord.
What is Kelvin doing at the moment?
Kelvin and his wife Liz Marsland currently have their own TV show called Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure.
He is also appearing in Channel 5 drama The Teacher playing Jack.

Liz is currently pregnant with twins and the couple have two children already; Marnie, five and two-year-old Milo.
