Jack P Shepherd could be waving goodbye to the Corrie cobbles for good.
The actor, 30, has given his biggest hint yet that he could leave Coronation Street after 18 years playing David Platt on the soap.
The dad-of-three has admitted there’s nowhere left for his character to go after his harrowing rape storyline.

In a recent interview to coincide with his current storyline, he worried fans by suggesting it might be time for him to leave the soap.
When asked about whether David will always be affected by his rape, Jack cryptically replied: “I’ve been in the show for 18 years now and played every single storyline you could possibly play.
“Ultimately in soaps I think if it does change the character then you must see what you want from the character. Do you want David Platt to change and if so why? If he does change, does he eventually have to leave?”

The actor went on to say: “After a while the character must come to terms with what has happened to them and move on, then you can live out other stories.
“If they don’t, then what do they do? Will they be depressed or do they leave?
“It comes down to that really. David has been through a lot, he’s a resilient character. He’s had numerous people trying to kill him before and his wife died, so there are things that he’s got over and come out the other side.”
David’s rapist Josh Tucker is currently living with Billy Mayhew, who believes he can rehabilitate him…
But David is furious to discover his attacker is still in close proximity.
In the interview, Jack explains that David “isn’t coping very well” and that his character needs closure.
He said: “It all depends what happens and what David sees fit to find that closure. It could be him turning him into the police, or killing him, or getting someone to beat him up.”
In March, horrified ITV viewers saw David befriend Josh, before the vile personal trainer spiked his drink and took advantage of him.
While David eventually reported the attack, there wasn’t enough evidence to convict the criminal.
In the aftermath of David’s ordeal, Josh appeared to receive his comeuppance when he was violently assaulted and left blind by another man he planned to target.
However, thanks to misguided vicar Billy, Josh is now back on the Street and soon to come face to face with his victim once again.
