Jack P Shepherd got quite the surprise this week, when a fan showed their appreciation for his Coronation Street character in a rather permanent way…
Jack, 31, has played David Platt since 2000 and is perhaps used to the loyal soap fanbase – and luckily saw the funny side when a man revealed he’d had David tattooed on his bottom!

Corrie viewer Ellis saved up his pennies and endured the pain of having an inking on his bum cheek which read ‘David Platt’.
Sharing a photo of his inking on Twitter and tagging actor Jack, Ellis wrote: “Can I get a retweet? I’ve got your character’s name on my bottom.”
He’s not a stalker, he’s a dedicated fan.
Jack, ever the good sport, did retweet the photo, alongside the laughing emoji.

When David agreed to retweet with a simple “yep”, Ellis called him a “legend” and said it was the “best day of his life”.
Jack’s followers were quick to comment on the tribute, with one asking: “Is Gail on the other side?”
Another said: “Sorry, but that’s weird.”
A third called Ellis a stalker, but another defended him saying: “He’s not a stalker, he’s a dedicated fan.”
It’s not the first time a Corrie viewer has shown their loyalty to the soap, with one super-fan having Deirdre Barlow etched on his leg.
Jack, who is a regular on social media, recently had a hair transplant as his hair loss was “affecting his mental health”.
He even revealed the problem had led him to “consider giving up acting and not being in the public eye”.
