Soap favourite Jennie McAlpine has teased her imminent return to work on Coronation Street.
The Fiz Stape star, 35, was written out of the ITV soap late last year as Jennie went on maternity leave to give birth to her second child, Hilda.
Fiz was last seen heading to Birmingham with her on-screen child Hope in order to sign her up to a school that specialised in educating children with behaviour problems like her daughter’s.
But after she and husband Chris welcomed Hilda into the world last October, it seems the time is nearing for mum-of-two Jennie – and Fiz – to head back to Weatherfield.

Sharing a snap of a Corrie script late last night on Instagram, Jennie made out she will soon be walking the Street’s cobbles again soon enough – even though the date of when her comeback episodes will air was obscured by a conveniently-placed cuppa.
“Friday night reading 🙈,” she wrote in the pic’s caption.
“Hoping it’s just like riding a bike #itsbeenawhile.”
Hopefully Jennie will have no trouble settling back into her work routine, having kept up to date with the goings on backstage via the cast’s WhatsApp group.

And it certainly seems that many of her fans are aching to see her again, too.
“It will be great having you back Jennie 😊,” wrote one follower on the Insta snap.
“So glad you’re coming back. Missed you on Corrie,” added another.
A third contributed: “Aww, that IS good news! Makes sense for Fiz and Hope to come back for the summer holidays too.”
However, one sceptical follower expressed reservations about how Fiz’s return might be scripted.
“Looking forward to seeing how unrealistic and far-fetched this all will be 🙄,” they sarcastically commented.
– Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
