Hollyoaks star Kirsty-Leigh Porter has spoken on her ongoing struggle after her daughter was stillborn last December.
Kirsty has shared an emotional Instagram message on what would have been the week of her child’s due date.
She revealed that this week has been particularly hard for her and her fiancé Paul.
Kirsty has been reading a book about how to deal with the grief of losing her child, Penny-Leigh. She shared an image of Saying Goodbye by Zoe Clark-Coates on Instagram.
The actress wrote alongside: “This week in particular has been a struggle.. tomorrow is Penny-Leigh Barber’s due date – 5th March 2019. A date I spent saying over and over again, looking forward to with the most excitement, planning my whole life around. I’ve really had to pick myself up, and I am searching for any help.”
She continued: “Thankfully I remembered this book I received from the bereavement suite at the hospital. Written by @zoeadelle Just turning a few pages and reading the words of someone who understands your experience helps. I recommend anyone who is going through this heartbreak to get hold of a copy. ❤️.”
Kirsty also shared a message about grief and admitted that she has often felt “alone” after her loss, despite the support of her family and friends.
