She wrote: “Over and out… Michelle Connor has left the building… What an amazing 13/14 years I have had.
“Met some amazing friends, learnt so much and am so blessed to have been part of such an amazing show!!!”
She went on to say: “Thanks to all the fans for being so loyal and supportive over my time at Coronation Street and to all the fabulous cast and crew who are like my second family! I love you all! Here’s to new beginnings!”

One of those loyal fans responded by saying: “A great character, we’re going to miss you.”
Another said: “I am glad we still get to watch you for a while yet, but I can’t begin to say what a pleasure it has been to watch and support you for so many years.
“Thank you for being so kind and I hope the future holds so many amazing opportunities.”
Over and out… Michelle Connor has left the building.
A third gushed: “So sad to see you go. Michelle is one of my favourite characters, I’m going to miss her and Carla together – what an iconic duo!”

Corrie, in turn, teased Michelle’s current storyline (Friday November 8) by sharing a teaser clip alongside the message: “Will Michelle stand up for herself when a vengeful Ray constantly gives her menial jobs to do?”
Kym’s co-star Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, also confirmed it was Kym’s last day on set when she shared a photo of herself eating a rather delicious looking cake.
She explained that the day was a special event in two ways as it was her 41st birthday, as well as Kym’s last day.
She wrote: “Well it is Kym Marsh’s leaving day and my birthday. Yummy @sophellies_cheesecakes.”

Kym announced she would be departing the cobbles earlier this year, telling OK! Magazine: “I’ve loved every minute of working there and I’ve made some great friends at work, but now feels like the right time for me to take a break and spread my wings.
“There were reports that I was going to appear in the next series of Strictly or I’m A Celeb… As wonderful as those shows are, I’m not leaving Corrie after 13 years to do reality TV.
“Another big factor in my decision to take a break from Corrie is the impending arrival of my grandson.
“I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with him and Emilie.”
