Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt might not get the happy ending soap fans would like her to have, actress Lucy Fallon has hinted.
The soap star, 23, has warned viewers that Bethany is set for more heartbreak in the coming months ahead of her exit next year.

In May this year, Lucy announced she was leaving the soap “to pursue other projects”.
After five years in Weatherfield, her character has certainly been through more than most women go through in a lifetime – including being groomed and raped by a paedophile ring, and later being kidnapped by the daughter of one of her abusers.
Since then, understandably, Bethany has struggled with intimacy issues, and cannot trust men and find a lasting relationship.

She had a brief romance with Ryan Connor, and last week found herself in a compromising position with married man Daniel Osbourne.
And now Lucy has revealed that her character “won’t have happier moments” ahead of her upcoming exit.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other media at the TV Choice Awards on Monday (September 9), she teased a big storyline for Bethany over Christmas and admitted there’d be more heartbreak.
She said: “I think there’s quite a lot happening over Christmas. There’s quite a big episode on Christmas Day. It’s secret though. I don’t know what else happens to me.”
Asked if her character will experience happier times before she leaves, Lucy replied: “No, she’s not going to have happier moments because she starts to fall for Daniel. But obviously he has a wife who is dying of cancer.”
In the past few weeks, viewers have seen Bethany and Daniel grow increasingly closer, something which doesn’t go unnoticed by his wife Sinead.
And in a devastating storyline, Sinead is told she has terminal cancer and just months to live.
Talking to Lorraine on Wednesday (September 11), Lucy revealed she’d finish filming in the New Year.
She said: “I will leave Corrie at the end of January, but I’m on screen until the end of March.
“When I’ve left, I’ll have been there for five years. It just feels like the right time. I’m going to miss everybody so much. I’m excited, I’m nervous, but we’ll just see what happens.”
She also revealed she had “nothing lined up at the moment” and that she’d like to “focus on doing more acting, dramas and things”.
Former Corrie star Suranne Jones, who has catapulted to TV royalty in dramas such as Doctor Foster and Gentleman Jack, previously tipped Lucy for the top.
In an interview with RadioTimes.com, she said that Lucy reminds her of herself, saying she was “really brilliant”.
