Lucy-Jo Hudson has announced she’s left Hollyoaks after a year of playing the role of prostitute Donna-Marie Quinn.
The actress shared the news on Instagram on Friday, sharing a photo with co-star Gregory Finnegan on her last day on set.
Alongside the pic, the actress said it’s been a “real pleasure” playing “skanky” Donna-Marie.

She wrote: “Goodbye @hollyoaksofficial, it has been a real pleasure playing skanky Donna-Marie for the past 12 months.
“Not gonna miss the teeth that’s for sure… but thank you for making me feel welcome… wonderful cast and crew!!! Good luck with the @thebritishsoapawards.”
Fans were gutted and shared their thoughts in the comment section.
One person said: “Gutted you’re leaving, best wishes for the future.”
Another wrote: “Loved you as Donna Marie all the best with your future projects,” while a third added: “You were brilliant Lucy – such a talented actress.”
Lucy-Jo also revealed that she’d already filmed her final scenes in January by sharing a filming slate along with the caption: “Goodbye @hollyoaksofficial.”
Lucy-Jo’s co-star Gregory, who plays James Nightingale, also paid tribute to her with a sweet message on Instagram.
He said: “On a snowy day in January we said au revoir to Donna-Marie…
“Loved working with the wonderful @lucyjo_hudson – here’s hoping she gets out of prison soon! Gx.”
Lucy-Jo commented on the post: “Ahhhh mate… gonna miss working with you! Thanks for all the entertainment, now go win best actor please!”
The star announced she was joining Hollyoaks last year.

She had previously played Coronation Street character Katy Harris for three years, from 2002 to 2005.
Lucy-Jo was also known for her role as Rosie Trevanion in the ITV drama Wild at Heart, from 2006 to 2009.
