Neon Jungle’s Jessica Plummer has been cast in EastEnders and will join the Taylor family.
The 26-year-old singer – who was previously part of the four-piece girl group alongside Shereen Cutkelvin, Amira McCarthy and Asami Zdrenka – will join the BBC One soap as Chantelle Baker, the daughter of Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths).
Karen and Mitch will be delighted to see Chantelle at first but tensions between mother and daughter will arise immediately.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Show chiefs have high hopes of some meaty storylines.”
Kate Oates, senior executive producer of EastEnders, recently said: “The Taylor family are set to be complete when Chantelle arrives in Walford and Chantelle certainly has that feisty Taylor streak.
“Things are set to get a whole lot louder in Walford in 2019.”

Chantelle will have a kind and bubbly nature as well as a no-nonsense manner, just like her opinionated mother, while Roger reprised his role as Mitch in December.
He previously said: “It feels great to be returning to Albert Square and working with the wonderful cast and crew again, especially the fantastic Taylor family.”

Neon Jungle were formed in 2013 and hit the music scene with their debut single ‘Trouble’ – which entered the UK Singles Chart at number 12.
However, the girl group only released one album, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ before going their separate ways in 2015.
They are most remembered for their most successful single, ‘Braveheart’, which reached number four on the UK Singles Chart.
