Samantha Giles has filmed her final Emmerdale scenes.
The 48-year-old star, who has played Bernice Blackstock on and off since 1998, is bowing out of the ITV soap later this year, and while she will miss the cast and crew, she is keen to try her hand at other challenges.
She wrote on Twitter: “Yesterday was my last filming day on Emmerdale. I shall miss the laughs and have made some great friends. But sometimes it’s good to leave the party when you’re having a good time…”

Several stars wished her well for the future, including former Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye, whose character Megan Macey swapped the Dales for Newcastle in August.
Gaynor, who spent seven years on the soap, tweeted: “Shine on Sam, you’re amazing, can’t wait to catch up with you soon darling”

Last month, Samantha announced she was leaving Emmerdale to pursue “other creative projects”.

She tweeted: “After seven fabulous years I am shortly to be hanging up Bernice’s aprons and leaving the Dales to pursue other creative projects.
“I will miss all the friends I’ve made on the show, but I’m very excited to be moving on to pastures new.”
The star previously said she was keen to act out some more “serious storylines” as well as playing out her comedic lines.

She said: “I think it could work really well doing some serious storylines, with the ‘comedy characters’ having something difficult to deal with because it proves that things could happen to anybody.
“But it is nice with us – the show wouldn’t work with absolutely everybody in it having a hard time or being miserable. They have to share it out – which is great for us.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
