Coronation Street fans had a meltdown today after Tracy Barlow ran a marathon in the European Championships.
Soap fans were shocked this morning as the BBC gave extensive coverage over Tracy’s marathon running escapades during the competition in Berlin.
They couldn’t believe their ears and eyes as they kept hearing about how Tracy was doing during the womens marathon event.
However it’s not the Tracy Barlow that soap fans love to hate, instead it’s the British athlete.
Athlete Tracy finished in 15th place today overall but was the first British competitor to cross the finish line.

But that didn’t stop Corrie fans from flocking to social media.
One fan commented: “Watching the marathon. Tracy Barlow running for GB apparently.
“She’s doing well but that’s what years of training running upstairs to play your tapes while your mum and step dad talk about their latest affairs does for you.”
A second added: “I can’t NOT hear Deirdre’s voice now that I know there’s a Tracy Barlow running in the marathon #EuropeanChampionship2018”
Another joked: “Tracy Barlow?? We’re putting soap characters into championship marathons now?”
A fourth viewer added: “@itvcorrie it’s a bit strange to hear Tracy Barlows running in the Berlin Marathon especially when you hear the commentator saying Tracy Barlow picking up a pace.”

Others flocked to share their joy at Tracy escaping the drama-filled cobbles.
One wrote: “Remarkable, Tracy Barlow is running in the #BerlinMarathon!…she finally got herself away from Coronation Street and the drugs….good to see folk making a new start!”
Another tweeted: “Sorry every time cram keeps saying Tracy Barlow I can’t help giggling lol.”
