Alison Hammond’s warning to Holly and Phil ahead of National Television Awards

They like a tipple, Holly and Phil...

They’re known for their wild nights out at the annual National Television Awards, but This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has vowed to keep Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in line when it comes their boozing at tonight’s ceremony.

Holly and Phil famously turned up to work rather worse for wear after partying through the night at the 2016 awards when This Morning won Best Live Magazine Show.

Alison told The Sun: “I’m the one who says, ‘Listen everyone, come on, don’t have another drink, we need to go. Let’s get in our cars now.'”

“I literally watch Holly and Phil’s backs. Holly dropped her phone last time, so I was trying to find it for her. I’m the one who looks after everyone.”

However, she insisted she wasn’t a party-pooper, adding everyone comes onto her “level” when they’ve had a drink.

“Holly and Phil carry on all night – they’re crazy, they’d drink me under the sofa. I enjoy myself, but then I go back to my hotel.”

The 43-year-old presenter insists she is virtually teetotal, saying she sometimes has a Baileys, but will be drinking water at the NTAs stating she’s the “boring one”!

Alison, who joined This Morning in 2003 on a short-term contract, is still a part of the team 16 years later. The former Big Brother star says she has loved every minute, but if she could change one thing it would be her laugh.

She says: “I hate my laugh and when I watch myself back and see it, I think: ‘Why are you so loud?'”

This Morning is hoping to win the best daytime Programme award having triumphed 12 times previously.
