Amanda Holden defends walking off BGT stage after being soaked by act

She wasn't impressed!

Amanda Holden has opened up about being soaked during Thursday night’s semi final of Britain’s Got Talent.

Last night, viewers watched comedian Marty Putz turn on a water cannon and pelt liquid at the judges, leaving them soaking wet during his performance.

The judges were left speechless by the surprise soaking, with Amanda and Alesha Dixon rushing off the panel to try to dry off.

On Friday, Amanda was a guest co-host on This Morning and she opened up about the unexpected incident.

Rylan Clark-Neal jokingly asked Amanda: “Have you dried off yet?”

Amanda replied: “I’ve still got wet pants! They were soaked.”

Addressing claims she “stormed” off the stage, the star added: “Me and Alesha didn’t want bog roll on us! Alesha was absolutely drenched.”

The star admitted she had no idea it was going to happen.

Speaking about whether Simon Cowell knew it was going to happen, Amanda joked: “God no, he would have been the one who left first because his hair is more precious to him than mine.”

During Marty’s performance, as well as drenching the judges in water, he also threw toilet roll over Simon and David Walliams with the help of Dec Donnelly.

As the act came to an end, David pressed his buzzer and Alesha and Amanda returned to their seats while clutching towels.

Getting her own back on Marty, Amanda then walked up on stage and threw a bottle of water over the contestant.

Simon said: “This wasn’t what I signed up for.”

David quipped: “It’s gone down very well with the judges, so congratulations!”

He added: “But I’m a big kid at heart and I think the kids who watch the show will love it. That was mayhem! You’re a very brave man to soak us all.”

When asked if she liked the act, Alesha said: “Yeah, I had a good flush,” while Amanda told Marty: “I’m going to send you the dry cleaning bill!”

But Amanda, who wore a stunning emerald green Iris Serban gown, did admit it was all just a bit of fun.

She added: “It was fun. It’s clowning at its best and somewhere, somebody enjoyed it.”

Simon, 58, then suggested Marty’s act would be “brilliant” for his son Eric’s 5th birthday party.

Unfortunately, despite his efforts Marty didn’t make it to Sunday night’s final.

Instead, viewers saw DVJ – the dance group created by Diversity’s Ashley Banjo – and Father and son act Jack and Tim Goodacre bag a place in final.
