Theo Burrell, an expert on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, has revealed the results of her latest scan as she lives with incurable brain cancer.
The 37-year-old antiques specialist has grade 4 glioblastoma, which was diagnosed in June 2022.
Theo, a mum of one, previously indicated she may have “only a year or two left to live”.
And, having reached two years since she was given such terrible news, brave Theo admitted she felt “anxious” about her latest set of results.
Antiques Roadshow expert Theo Burrell ‘anxious’ over scan results
Addressing her followers on Instagram earlier this month, Theo said she felt nervous going into the scan.
She said: “As I head into a scan this afternoon, and the anxiety about my upcoming results looms, I’m hanging onto my old friend hope to see me through.”
Moved social media users offered their best wishes to the “brave and inspiring” TV personality. “Fingers and toes crossed for a good scan result. Thinking of you,” one person wrote in Theo’s post’s comments section.
A second wrote: “Thanks for the update Theo. Sending positive vibes for good results.” While a third said: “Amazing as always Theo. Braver than me! I hope your scan goes okay.”
‘Frustrated’
Now, Theo has revealed that the results of the scan showed her tumour is “stable”. She shared in an Instagram Story: “Quick update … stable scan results received today [heart emoji]. June 7 will mark two years since diagnosis.”
Trying to manage cancer fatigue alongside the ups and downs of life has been pretty difficult.
Earlier this week she had revealed her tiredness due to her illness.
She said: “Trying to manage cancer fatigue alongside the ups and downs of life has been pretty difficult. My energy levels are very low, and I feel frustrated that brain cancer is affecting my ability to do simple day-to-day things.”
However, Theo has a busy weekend coming up…

Theo Burrell in charity abseil
The antiques expert will be abseiling in Aberdeen for charity on Saturday (May 25). Funds raised will go to Brain Tumour Research.
Announcing the news to her followers on May 7, Theo reflected in her post: “Today also marks 23 months since I was diagnosed with brain cancer. I really had no idea whether I would still be here when I was given the news that I had a brain tumour. I didn’t take a life expectancy, but I know my chances of still being well (so far) with no regrowth (so far) were not particularly favourable.”
She went on: “I continue to find the mixture of emotions a rollercoaster, and little landmines of fear and upset go off without any warning at times.”
