BBC Casualty will be going on an extended break after this Saturday’s episode (August 22), but when will it be back?
Currently the BBC medical drama is still suspended from filming and it has been confirmed the show will be going on hiatus.
But although the show is going to be off air for a while, it looks like the final episode will be packed with drama.
Casualty break – spoilers
There will be a mini-crossover between Holby City and Casualty when Max McGerry comes for a brief visit.

Max, who is acting CEO of the hospital, will head downstairs to the emergency department to attend a meeting with Connie Beauchamp. However Jacob Masters will be infuriated.
With Jacob already annoyed over some of Connie’s decisions, he’s further irritated when Max tells him that he and Connie will be presenting a report on issues within the department by the end of the day.
Later Connie encourages her ex-boyfriend to stay silent in the board meeting. However he ends up betraying her and throwing her under the bus.
Last week, viewers saw Fenisha reveal to Jan the truth about her pregnancy.
Fenisha is four months pregnant with Ethan’s baby, however she told him she terminated the pregnancy. Will he find out the truth?
When is Holby City back?
Casualty’s temporary break follows the news that Holby City will be going on its second extended break of the year.
The show took a break between April and early June before returning to screens.
But the final episode of Holby City aired last Tuesday (August 11) and saw the tragic death of Essie Di Lucca.

Essie was recently told her cancer had returned and in previous weeks, she decided to no longer continue treatment.
Although it hasn’t been revealed when Holby will be back on screens, it is believed to be later this year.
Holby returned to filming at the end of July.
Casualty airs Saturday August 22 at 7.45pm on BBC One.
