Britain’s Got Talent has released a regal trailer for the upcoming series – but fans have noticed there is something missing.
Or two somethings, we should say…
Neither Ant nor Dec feature in the lavish promo, which sees judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon dressed as royalty while passing judgement on auditioning hopefuls.
The popular TV duo’s absence was noted by some fans, with one tweeting: “Disappointed that Ant & Dec aren’t here!!”

Another wrote: “Where’s @antanddec not watching it unless Dec is hosting live shows they make BGT what it is.”
A third added: “Kind of worrying that you haven’t tagged @antanddec, I’m not watching without them or Dec I’ll still be watching BGMT though.”
Others, however, felt there was nothing unusual about Ant & Dec not being in the promo, given they don’t actually appear every year.
And why would Ant & Dec be tagged in if they aren’t in the promo?
One pointed out: “Considering the promo is of usual 1 min length and Ant & Dec have not been featured every year (2012, 2014, 2015, etc) I’d like to think that they were never in it in the first place…”
And that’s very true – Ant & Dec don’t feature in the big Britain’s Got Talent trailer every year, so them being missing from this one is nothing odd.

Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV in April.
The fabulous trailer sees each of the four judges channelling their inner royalty while subjects try to keep them amused.
Simon has a bit of a Game of Thrones vibe going on, as he sits in a Gothic-looking chamber next to two gorgeous dogs.
Amanda, meanwhile, is the spitting image of Queen Elizabeth with her fiery red curls and elaborate frock.
Elsewhere, David has also gone all out with his costume, looking every inch the 18th century noble with his chalky white make-up and voluminous wig.
Finally, Alesha looks drop dead gorgeous in her Queen Victoria-inspired costume.
And, yes, she utters the famous words, “we are not amused!” in the trailer.
It’s good to see all four judges back in action – and it doesn’t seem likely the line-up will change anytime soon!
In a recent interview with Best magazine, show boss Simon vowed: “We all genuinely get on really well. We are just all very comfortable with each other. If I am honest, I just can’t imagine changing the panel.”
The auditions episodes of Britain’s Got Talent were filmed earlier this year, and will be followed by the live shows later in the series.
Ant & Dec both feature in the pre-recorded auditions episodes, but it is currently unclear if Dec will be hosting the live shows solo.
His telly partner Ant has returned to treatment and stepped down from current TV commitments after he was charged with drink-driving following a car collision in Richmond, London.
That means Dec, also 42, will host the last two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway solo.
Ant & Dec also host a third programme together on ITV, I’m A Celebrity, which usually airs around November.

Last week, ITV said it was “utter nonsense” to suggest Ant & Dec could ever be replaced on I’m A Celebrity, following a Sunday paper’s suggestion bosses were open to testing out other hosts.
