PC Dave Wardell and his mind-reading canine companion Finn have made it through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent.
In last night’s episode (May 27), the first of the semi-finals, Dave explained that Finn was going to put his own thoughts into the judges’ minds through the power of “thought transference”.

Dave got each of the judges to look at Finn, asked them a question and then had them say the answer that came to mind aloud.
Next, he showed the audience a clip of him and Finn getting ready in the morning and each of the judges’ answered featured in the footage.
At the start of the trick, he also got the judges to pick six random letters between them and at the end, he brought a group of adorable puppy police dogs on stage and revealed the letters chosen earlier by the panel (which turned out to be an anagram of ‘Future’).
Despite previous Dave & Finn performances reducing viewers to tears, some thought their latest trick was “rubbish”.
Taking to Twitter, one unimpressed BGT fan wrote: “Dave and Finn on BGT were awful, the info in the video was clearly superimposed and he picked the letters himself. How are people impressed by them?!”
Another said: “Hmm very dubious about Dave and Finn on BGT! You give me some letters and we’ll forget about them and I’ll quickly add a few more to make the word I want – shorten that dog’s name for me Simon so I can fit it in the template overlay for my video…”
A third wrote: “Call me dumb but did nobody see Dave from Dave and Finn switch those letters on the board himself right after he told the judges they could choose a letter each?”

Someone else said: “Dave and Finn act was fixed, he asked the judges to randomly pick letters on that board and then changes them all to the correct letter. Guess the judges didn’t pick correctly lol.”
Others loved the act and praised Dave and Finn.
One person wrote: “Well done @K9Finn and Dave! So well deserved on #BGT. You are both amazing and hope you do really well on in the final.
“I’m sure its said enough Dave but thank you both for your service.. particularly Finn who never left his owner’s side.”
