Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent were hit right in the feels when Colin Thackery took to the stage tonight.
The Second World War hero, now a Chelsea pensioner, sang Wind Beneath My Wings, made famous by Bette Midler.
The very special OAP, 88, dedicated the number to his late wife Joan who died three years ago after more than 60 years of marriage.
He was given four yeses from the judges, while viewers at home were overcome with emotion.

Colin won’t be letting the success to his head though, revealing that Joan would have kept him in check.
“She would be highly critical, because that’s what she was,” he told the Mirror.
“Joan had a very good alto voice. In fact, we both sang together in an operatic society.
“She was typical northern girl, they don’t say a lot, but they think a lot. But she would have been delighted.”
