Britain’s Got Talent’s week of live semi-finals starts tonight on ITV and we’re all very excited.
And no one more so than judge Alesha Dixon, who’s been speaking out about how proud she is of the show.
Alesha told The Sun that she has no time for the people who criticise the international acts on BGT.
“When are people going to get over that?” she tutted. “Can you imagine saying to someone: ‘Oh I’m sorry you can’t audition for our show because you’re French’? It would be so awful.”
And she added: “We’re all human and we all live on the same planet.”
In 2013, Hungarian shadow theatre act Attraction won the show, and Alesha said she’d hoped that would be a turning point.
“I thought that was when we embraced people,” she said. “The public voted for them to win.”
Britain’s Got Talent is open to anyone who wants to audition and this series has seen people from all over the world, of all ages, genders, disabilities and, erm, talent, take part in the show.

And Alesha says that’s exactly why she loves being a part of BGT.
“One of the reasons I’m proud to sit on the panel is that whether you are black, white, gay, straight, old or young, have a disability, or come from another country, our doors are open to you,” she gushed.
“There is always such a lovely energy around the show and it feels joyful, celebratory and inclusive.”
