He’s used to hosting The Chase but now he’ll be running away from Daleks if reports are true.
Bradley Walsh is apparently going to be the new Dr Who sidekick…sorry Whovians, we meant ‘companion’.
It would make sense to have a man playing the role because after all Jodie Whittaker is the first woman to land the part of the Doctor.

Some might be surprised that daytime quiz host Bradley could be about to join the cast of the legendary BBC drama but then again, Catherine Tate was an assistant once and she was best-known for her comedy characters.
Before that, everyone had a good laugh when pop star Billie landed the role when the series was originally regenerated with Christopher Eccleston but now she’s one of the favourite companions of all time and an award-winning and respected theatre actor to boot.
So then, Bradley Walsh the new companion? Well it’s still just a rumour from ‘a source’.
It’s all still “top secret”, but Bradley is apparently “thrilled” to be part of the long-running BBC1 drama.
The source told The Mirror: “Bradley is super excited to be joining the cast of Doctor Who in such a key role.
“It means that his schedule over the coming months will be jam-packed – so he won’t be able to continue with the full range of programmes he currently makes for ITV.
“But, crucially, it won’t affect his role as presenter of The Chase. He loves that show with a passion and so does the audience, so he’s delighted to have found a way to make it all work.”
Earlier this year, the world was shocked and – mostly – delighted when the Doctor regenerated into a woman for the first time.
Jodie Whittaker had kept it totally secret, not even telling her friends about her exciting new role.
In conversations with her agent they used a code word ‘Clooney” to cover the part they were really talking about.
A source very close to the actress told ED!: “The BBC keeps the identities of their new cast top secret and even Jodie hasn’t been told who her companion will be.

“She’s very nervous about the whole thing but excited to start filming too.
“But obviously she’ll be spending a lot of time with her companion so she hopes it’s someone fun.”
Well, Bradley is certainly fun so let’s hope these reports are true for Jodie’s sake.
