Bridgerton season 2 is officially on its way as the show’s social accounts confirmed plans for another series of the hit Netflix drama.
On Thursday (January 21), the show shared a tweet announcing the news.
The programme, based Julia Quinn’s books, has taken the world by storm and is one of the planet’s most talked-about shows right now.
And fans will be delighted by the news there is more to come.
Bridgerton season 2 confirmed
Yes, the show tweeted about series 2: “Prepare for another social season. Bridgerton is returning for season two, only on Netflix.”
Chris Van Dusen, creator of Bridgerton, spoke about the news on American chat show Today.
He said on the programme: “I am so thrilled to be announcing that Bridgerton will be back for a second season. We are going to be starting filming later this Spring in London and we’re all so excited. I know the cast can’t wait to get back to it and neither can I.”
It follows Chris telling fans that there are plenty more stories to tell about the Bridgerton sisters.
Speaking to the Collider website, he said: “I feel like the first season was primarily about Daphne and her love story with Simon.

“But, this being a family of eight children and there being eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings.
“For each character, for sure.”
He added that he would “love” the show to go on for eight series.
While Van Dusen says it’s too early to talk about any future plots, he did discuss several characters in the chat.
“We really dig into Anthony’s love story [in the first series],” he said. “We’re really exploring Benedict as well, and Collin, and Eloise relationship.
“I think it’s a deep well of story for us to explore.”
What is Bridgerton about?
The show released on Christmas Day and has proven to be the perfect TV pick-me-up.
It’s set in Regency London and tells the story of two families – the Bridgertons and the Featheringtons.
The eight Bridgerton sisters are all looking for love.

The eldest, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) strikes a deal with the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) to raise her profile among high society.
