Britain’s Got Talent reveals major change as ‘backstage comments’ from judges to air

Stephen Mulhern will share the goss on BGMT!

Stephen Mulhern returns to host Britain’s Got More Talent this weekend and he’s got some extra tricks up his sleeves!

The 40-year-old presenter has revealed he’ll be sharing even more backstage footage with the audience, including comments the judges thought they made off-air!

Stephen told The Sun that he will be using all the “gossip” between Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams to play a fun game.

“The judges forget they are filmed 24/7 when they are on set. So we have all the footage of their conversations where they are gossiping between auditions,” he explained.

“We’re going to use it to play a game. For example, we’ll repeat things they’ve said about other people such as, ‘She’s not really that nice in person’ and ask which one said it and who it was about.”

Oooh, we can’t wait to see that!

Stephen added: “It’ll be like Russian Roulette, we’ll play it and see who they were talking about.”

The Catch Phrase host said he doesn’t feel bad about exposing comments the judges thought they’d made privately. As they are well-aware they are microphoned-up, he said what they say is fair game!

The four judges began travelling the UK last November to see the auditionees vying for a spot on the live shows, and ultimately to win so they can take part in the Royal Variety Performance.

Ant McPartlin is expected to feature alongside Declan Donnelly in the pre-recorded opening episodes, but it is unclear if he will co-host for the live shows as he’s currently back in treatment following his arrest on suspicion of drink-driving.

The pre-recorded segments mean Dec will have a break before he returns to live telly following the series finale of Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend.

He presented two shows solo after Ant asked bosses for time off work, but was supported by Stephen and Scarlett Moffatt.
