Brooke Vincent reveals how Dancing on Ice has changed her life

She has spoken ahead of tonight's double elimination

She’s one of the last female contestants still standing on this year’s Dancing On Ice so Brooke Vincent has said she’ll “do it for the girls” when she skates this evening.

In an interview ahead of tonight’s double elimination, the Coronation Street star says she wants to do well for her fellow females who have already been voted off, and for “for the girls that aren’t the girly girls”.

She said: “I want to do it for the girls. I really do. I want to do it for the girls that aren’t the girly girls. I’m a normal girl, I don’t wear make-up every day, I do look rough. I don’t put make-up on to go to the gym, that’s not my thing.”

She added: “I want to do it for the girls that have left the competition – Perri, Steph, Candice and Cheryl.”

The 25-year-old, who is skating with professional Matej Silecky, said it has been “chaos” fitting in training with her Corrie commitments so she’s grateful to her partner for being patient with her when she’s become “tired and snappy”.

She said: “I thought that I had a busy life before I started Dancing on Ice, but doing this alongside Coronation Street has been chaos but I’ve done it!

“It’s always a nice relief when I have a day off so I can concentrate solely on skating. It has been really tough, when I get to training I’m tired and snappy and Matej just deals with it and understands, which is really good.”

She added: “It’s a bit like having kids when people say, ‘I don’t know what I did before.’ That’s exactly how I feel. I don’t know what I did with my time before now. I don’t stay in bed past 7am anymore. It’s mad. It’s a completely different routine, a complete change of my life.”

Her routine isn’t the only thing that has changed thanks to the show. Brooke said it’s also helped her lead a much healthier lifestyle.

“I’m still not smoking, which is my main thing,” she said of the fact she quit when she started training.

“Even if I’m not in the final, I’ve done one of my life’s big accomplishments and I’ve gone above and beyond to stay off smoking. I’m proud of myself for doing that.”

Brooke admitted performing live each week is the “scariest” thing she has ever done but she hopes she can make it to the final as she’ll miss “the class of 2018” when it is all over, as they have become “like a little family”.

She added: “As I say to Matej all the time, when he goes back to the US and I’m back at work, I’ll think ‘we’ve spent every day together for two months’, and we’ve bickered and we’ve laughed and it’s been a massive emotional rollercoaster. I want to win for him as well.”
