Fans of BBC drama Casualty were left furious last night as the show was cancelled at the last minute.
Tennis at Wimbledon ran over on Saturday July 6, which first saw the medical series pushed back, but then taken off air altogether.

Fans of the sport were delighted they got to see Brit Andy Murray’s return to Wimbledon in the mixed doubles with ace Serena Williams and their pairing was such big news the Beeb decided to show their match in its entirity.
Andy and Serena beat Andreas Mies and Alexa Guarachi in a tense match which ran into overtime.
But the reason didn’t impress those tuning in to watch their weekly dose of drama, especially as the soap itself had tweeted only moments before it was due to start that the show would be on.

And to make matters worse, it seems the BBC were showing the SAME tennis match on both BBC One and BBC Two!
Fans were quick to tweet their disappointment, with one very angry viewer hitting out at the BBC over licence fees.
“And you wonder why some people aren’t willing to pay TV licence because you put [bleep] tennis on instead of Casualty. [Bleep] tennis put it on BBC2 or BBC sports channel after all it’s a [bleeping] sport !!!”
Where is the episode ? Why it is not on air . Wimbledon still on BBC channels. BBC1 AND BBC 2 . So when you have announced it was going to go ahead did you cancel it ? @BBC explain yourself please. No apologies or announcement of it being aired later than expected after 8.30pm

@BBCOne will never listen to want the fans want, why on earth are both 1+2 full up of blady Wimbledon 👿👿👿👿👿

Scandalous! Same game of tennis on both 1 and 2!!! Can’t believe you’ve taken casualty off @BBCOne

What the hell are you playing at @BBC??!! I don’t pay my licence fee to watch TENNIS on both channels (or at all). You’re supposed to show CASUALTY tonight! 😡 and you did the same with Holby this week. I’m really angry – and you’re useless! EXPLAIN! 😡😡😡

Not surprising that viewers are questioning the logic behind BBC s decision to take Casualty off the schedule and make the ludicrous choice to broadcast the exact same tennis coverage on both BBC 1 and BBC 2. Totally unacceptable when we ALL pay a licence fee. #deservebetter

I was gobsmacked yesterday. If I wanted to watch tennis, I would have switched to BBC 2. What’s so important about bloody tennis? Do Serena and Murray {I don’t care, if I spelled that right) get paid for it? 1 certainly don’t. I actually DO PAY instead to watch this crap!

The channel has yet to confirm when the missed episode of Casualty will air.
ED! has asked the BBC for comment.
It’s not the first time viewers have been fed up with the Beeb for messing around with the schedules.

EastEnders has been moved several times over the last few weeks to make way for the Fifa Women’s World Cup.
Former boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins hit out at the channel for moving EastEnders when the show was coming back into its prime after a tricky few months.
The soap has suffered some of its worse ratings ever over recent weeks, with the constant schedule changes blamed for its dwindling figures.
