Not only did Celebrity Big Brother serve up a double eviction last night, but it promised us even more to come in another shocking twist.
Viewers were still coming to terms with the twin evictions of Rachel Johnson and Maggie Oliver from the house, when host Emma Willis announced that there was another eviction on the cards, and it would be via the back door this weekend.

That means none of the cheering (or jeering) crowd that awaited Rachel and Maggie last night, and it’s not exactly a favourite with the fans.
After the excitement over the double eviction was dying down, Emma promised there was much more to come:
“Big Brother is only just warming up,” she said from the main stage. “Thirteen housemates remain and they are in for a big shock. This weekend, it’s back to women versus men with the two teams competing in an epic task.
“Now what the housemates don’t know is that this battle of the sexes ends with a backdoor eviction. You don’t want to miss it.”
Emma appeared on Celebrity Big Brother spin-off show Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side with Rylan Clark-Neal to go into further detail, and the complicated eviction process took a bit of explaining.
“Let me try and explain this properly,” she said before detailing the mechanics. “So it’s back to battle of the sexes, so it’s men versus women. The women have to pick two men that they want to possibly face eviction and the men have to pick two women.
“Then they battle out in teams to try and save their sex,” she continued. “Whoever wins, so say the women win, they have to choose one of those two that they nominated to kick out the back door. Or, if the men win, they have to choose one of the women to go straight out the back door.”
A shocked Rylan greeted the news with excitement as Emma confirmed that it would be a housemates-only decision with no public vote.
But viewers were not impressed to say the least.

One described the idea as ‘a mess’, while others suggested it was due to poor ratings or simply tweeted that nobody likes the back door evictions.
Celebrity Big Brother is at least keeping up its reputation for controversy at every turn, and, with their time in the house at stake, this is one battle of the sexes we’re not going to miss.
