Celebrity Big Brother viewers gobsmacked after Amanda Barrie is asked “dumb” question

Er, someone needs to go back to school!

Celebrity Big Brother viewers have been rolling their eyes after Jess Impiazzi asked Amanda Barrie if there had been a World War III yet.

The Ex On The Beach star looked utterly shocked last night when Amanda, 82, revealed she’d been alive during the Second World War.

“I was born before the war,” Amanda said.

A shocked Jess replied: “I thought my nan was the last of the wars. She was 90 two years ago and she died.”

As Jess enjoyed a soak in the bathroom, Amanda explained she was just four years old when World War II broke out in 1939.

She wasn’t evacuated because her mother wouldn’t have let her go.

“One of my earliest memories is up where my grandparents lived on the moors. My grandfather took me up there to watch Manchester burning early on in the Blitz.

“I hated things like having to take your gas mask to school. I hated putting those rubber gas masks on. It was a funny time, I think you took it for granted.

“The worst thing was you started to realise that anxiety around you. And if you saw that bicycle telegraph person coming you’d think, ‘Whose house is it going to?'”

Jess then asked: “And there hasn’t been a World War III?”

Amanda replied: “Well, there might have been since we came in here.”

Well, Jess’s remark about WW3 raised eyebrows among viewers, many of whom couldn’t believe the reality star would even have to ask the question!

Other sceptical viewers questioned whether Jess’ bizarre question was all part of a game plan.

On a happier note, however, viewers were loving Amanda’s memories about the war and said they’d happily listen to the Corrie icon talk all day.

Meanwhile, the house was rocked last night by yet another shock twist.

The housemates thought five of them were definitely facing the double eviction on Friday night: Andrew Brady, Ann Widdecombe, Daniel O’Reilly, John Barnes and Rachel Johnson.

But in a twist, the housemates have been paired up to take part in a series of challenges, and the winning couple will be able to save one nominated housemate and replace them with another.
