Charlotte Hawkins clashed with Nigel Farage on today’s Good Morning Britain.
The leader of the Brexit Party appeared on the daytime show after his party topped the overnight Euro election polls.
Speaking to Charlotte and co-host Richard Madeley, he said: “It’s not a protest vote, the Brexit party is only six weeks old, it’s a huge achievement, if we don’t leave on 31st October we will go on to a General Election and surprise people there.

“We want to be part of the negotiating team, we want this country to be prepared to leave in October.
“I want us to be free and independent, I will not stop until we do so.”
But Charlotte interrupted and insisted that pro-remain parties combined actually had a bigger share of the vote.
However, her comments didn’t go down well with Nigel, who hit back: “This is absolute tosh…” to which Charlotte hit back, “It’s facts.”
Nigel fumed: “Well, it’s not a fact, alright! Add up the Brexit vote and…”
Charlotte then interrupted again to tell Nigel the percentages.
He said: “Let me finish. Add up the UKIP and [all the other] leave parties and you will find Leave beat Remain.
“I’m really tired of these remainers constantly moaning about every single election which they lose. This is just the beginning, we want to change politics for good.”
Charlotte cut in: “But what are your policies beyond that one thing – Brexit.”
Nigel then said they would look at “political reform, help for businesses and regions and many other things”.
The interview ended on a lighter note when Richard asked Nigel if he would be enjoying a drink today as he’d given up alcohol during the campaign.
Nigel said: “Oh yes the wheels will fall off today.”
Charlotte and Richard were filling in for Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan as they enjoyed their half-term break.
Piers and Susanna announced they were taking a break from the show last week, and fans were gutted.
One viewer wrote on Twitter today: “Can’t believe Piers and Susanna are off again every time I’m on holiday they’re as well. It’s dire without them even though they can drive you mad. #gmb.”
