The Chase star Bradley Walsh has signed a big-money deal with the BBC to host Blankety Blank, it has been reported.
The deal, said to be worth £2 million, will make him the second-highest-paid presenter behind Ant and Dec.
As a result of the big-money pay day, Bradley has leapfrogged over fellow hosts Phillip Schofield, Graham Norton and Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker.
Bradley can ‘name his price’
A source revealed that Bradley can “basically name his price”.
They told The Sun: “Bradley regularly polls internally as one of ITV’s most-liked stars. Viewers adore him, and he can turn his hand to pretty much any form of broadcasting.
“When it comes to taking on new work, he can basically name his price.”

The paper reports that accounts filed by Bradley’s Wingit Productions show its shareholder funds stand at £11.5m.
When it comes to taking on new work, he can basically name his price.
This figure is up from £9.5m in the previous 12 months.
Bradley’s son Barney – who he stars alongside in Breaking Dad – and wife Donna also get a share of the profits from the company.
Barney is named as director and Donna is secretary of Wingit Productions.
And and Dec, meanwhile, own Hurley Promotions and Mitre Television.
Combined, they earned the I’m A Celebrity hosts £8.6m last year.
They also own solo companies, however, meaning the award-winning pair remain the country’s best-paid presenters.

The news that he’s once again been beaten by Ant and Dec will doubtless amuse Bradley.
The pair win every TV award going and, back in March, pranked Bradley for the second time on their Saturday Night Takeaway show.
What else is Bradley Walsh working on?
As well as his new role on the BBC’s reboot of Blankety Blank, Bradley is the long-running presenter on ITV gameshow The Chase.
He also recently revealed that his show with Barney, Breaking Dad, has been recommissioned by ITV.
Posting on Instagram, Bradley revealed: “We are making another . It’ll be tricky because of social distancing and quarantine, but we will do our very best.”
