Claudia Winkleman has revealed that her son would like her to quit Strictly Come Dancing — because he thinks she’s too embarrassing.
In a new interview, she described her three children as “edible” but admitted 15-year-old Jake is at the stage where he’s growing up and thinks she’s a “loser”.
The Strictly host told The Sun’s Dan Wootton Interview Podcast: “My eldest son has got a buzzcut. He’s 15 and he thinks his mum’s a loser. It’s heartbreaking.
“The main thing he wants me to do is just not do Strictly. ‘Mum, if you really love me, you’d stop.’
“He’s just embarrassed. But that’s the whole point.
“My job is to embarrass him, so I just follow him around trying to lick his ear. He’s the cutest thing ever.”
Speaking in the podcast, Claudia said she has already dramatically scaled back her work commitments to spend more time with her family.
She previously quit BBC1’s movie review programme The Film Show and BBC2’s The Great British Sewing Bee.

The 46-year-old, who also has a daughter, Matilda, 11, and youngest son Arthur, six, with filmmaker husband Kris Thykier, said: “I want to be home between 4pm and 8pm. These shows, you just have to do them properly, they are 12-hour days.
‘It’s big commitment, it’s a whole series, and I just thought I won’t be able to do it properly because I’ll go, ‘Can I just go and pick up my son?'”
Claudia added that she would indeed heed Jake’s request to quit Strictly if the show lost co-presenter Tess Daly.
“I would go. Yeah, it feels like the polite thing to do, and let two new people start,” she said.
The TV star is now fronting a new cookery contest on BBC One with former Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry.
Britain’s Best Home Cook will see ten home cooks from across the country living together in a shared house while taking on various culinary challenges.
She recently said: “I think I have two jobs here. One is to be as orange as humanly possible and two is to make sure the contestants have a fantastic time.
“It is nerve wracking. These are home cooks, these are not people who have worked in kitchens or highly pressured scenarios.
“They’ve been making the most delicious spaghetti Bolognese in their street for years, and they come here where there are cameras and lights, there’s Mary and the brilliant boys, so they’re daunted and scared.
“My job is to look after them and take the edge off. I tickle them sometimes and tell jokes – I’ve been known to do anything that makes it better.”
