Coronation Street’s David Platt will go to extreme lengths to hide his rape trauma.
Soap boss Kate Oates has said the hairdresser is in for a rocky recovery from the horrifying sexually assault, and that it won’t be easy.
Viewers watched in horror as Josh Tucker drugged and then raped David some weeks ago.
Since then the hairdresser has slowly been falling apart trying to cope with what happened to him, and it’s not going to change any time soon.
Kate told the Metro: “After what he has been through, David’s head is all over the place and nobody knows what is going on with him.

“When he meets this young newcomer, it’s almost like he’s trying to find a way to hide in plain sight.”
Kate added that David thinks he has to prove his manhood, and new Salon trainee Emma will be the easiest way to do that – by moving her in as his girlfriend.
But it will be a mistake for him and he will have to go to extremes to try to cope.
Kate added: “Sleeping with Emma will be one of his big mistakes – and it’s all a way of him trying to get across to the world and himself that he has this masculinity and he can attract girls.
“He goes to extreme levels to try and block out what has happened to him.”
Fans watched David finally broke down this week as he struggled to hold in his emotions and they could barely cope.
