Coronation Street fans beg for Jim McDonald’s return

He'd definitely shake things up a bit!

Coronation Street fans are campaigning to see an old favourite return to the cobbles…

Jim McDonald would be chuffed if he knew how many Corrie fans want him back in Weatherfield. Although we’re not sure the neighbours would be as happy!

Ever since his ex-wife Liz mentioned him this week, fans have been on Twitter calling for him to return when he’s released from prison in the coming weeks.

Jim, played by Charlie Lawson, has been in jail  for seven years after he robbed a bank to buy the Rovers Return in 2011.

The last time we saw him was in 2014, when Peter Barlow also served time in the same prison for the murder of Tina McIntyre.

Top dog in jail, we saw Jim terrorise Peter as he attempted to get back on touch with Liz and son Steve. But when his efforts failed, Jim vowed revenge on his family. Gulp.

And since Liz mentioned him this week, fans have been begging for his return.

Many simply said: “Bring back Jim McDonald #Corrie.”

While others realised the potential of a Jim McDonald/Pat Phelan storyline, with one saying: “Jim McDonald and Pat Phelen to meet in prison and form the ultimate Corrie double act pls @itvcorrie.”

Another said: “Phelan & Jim Mcdonald in the Big House. Now there’s a storyline.”

We’re not sure the soap world is ready for Pat Phelan and Jim McDonald to collide!

Watch out Weatherfield!
