Martin Platt has made his big comeback to Coronation Street – and viewers were so happy to see him.
David’s dad (played by Sean Wilson) has been away from the soap for 13 years after moving to Liverpool with his new wife.
But he appeared again last night (Thursday 22 March), now that his son needs him.
"You can tell me who's upset you." – Martin

After David’s devastating sexual assault at the hands of vile Josh Tucker, he’s been left in ruins… And travelled to Liverpool in the hope of finding some comfort with his dad.

Of course, as any good dad should, Martin immediately suspected his son was hiding something…
And, in heartbreaking scenes, the worried dad tried to find out what was wrong.
However, David has chosen to bottle everything up and wouldn’t reveal the real reason he’s out of sorts.
Martin says: “When you were little, I could always tell when you’d done something wrong or someone’s upset you. […] So someone’s upset you?
“Well, I used to pick you up and make you tell me who’d done it. And I used to sort it out. You’re a bit too big to pick up now, but you still can tell me who’s upset you and I can still sort it out.”
Awwwww!
Fans were moved by the scenes, and some even called for Martin to return permanently to the ITV soap.

Sean has confirmed his character has only been asked to return for a short while, but in a recent interview he admitted he WOULD come back for longer if asked.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine show, he said: “I think I’ve made it clear that the character has enough links within the show – you know, past relationships, marriages, children, grandchildren, there’s quite a bit to go at.”

The 52-year-old actor-turned-chef also described how it felt to return to the set after more than a decade.
He said: “It’s lovely to be back. It felt like I’d never been away. It was like rolling back the years. I’ve described it before as like putting on an old jumper, it feels so right.
“Everybody was so warm and welcoming in the Green Room. And it was great to see Simon [Gregson], Helen [Worth] and Sue [Nicholls] again.”
Sean also let slip a little spoiler… That his character Martin WILL meet with Gail again in forthcoming scenes.
We can’t wait!
