Coronation Street fans hit out at “boring” storyline

It has gone on a fair while now

Coronation Street fans hoping the Pat Phelan story would be coming to an end soon were left disappointed after tonight’s double bill when it looked like things were going to drag on MUCH longer.

Tonight was the night Phelan had decided to kidnap Vinny and take him to the cellar to replace Andy, leaving Andy hopeful he was going to be freed.

But it turns out Andy’s ordeal isn’t over – and neither is the viewers’ ordeal.

Phelan spent most of the episode arguing with Anna Windass. He turned Seb Franklin against her and Pat’s meddling made Seb snap and launch a tirade of abuse at Anna, who then slapped the lad.

Anna then confronted Phelan at the builders’ yard and hit out at him with a hammer.

But he managed to overpower her and throw her to the ground, where she told him to go to hell and he responded that he’d see her there.

As Anna then became preoccupied with Seb, who’d fallen off his ladder and been rushed to hospital, Phelan set about luring Vinny into his trap.

Now, we’re not too sure of the intricacies of Phelan’s latest plot – we think he intended to replace Andy with hostage Vinny in the cellar and then Andy is going to be the person to feed and water him, therefore implicating Andy in the whole thing and meaning he can’t go to the police.

But when Phelan brought an unconscious Vinny down to the basement, he decided to leave Andy chained down there too.

“This wasn’t part of the plan, I should be on the outside, please don’t leave me in here with him,” begged Andy as Phelan tried to calm him down.

“Relax, take it easy, you’re going to need a good night’s sleep,” Pat said before revealing Andy would be free tomorrow. Something tells us that’s not going to be the case…

It seems fans are a little bit over the whole plot being dragged out and flocked to Twitter to express their feelings.

It might not be about too finish any time soon, with Anna having decided to reveal to Nicola Rubenstein what Pat did to her.

That’s sure to set off a whole other chain of events – and with Anna leaving soon, Phelan’s going to have to find a way to deal with her.

We know he’s going to frame her for pushing Seb off the ladder, but will that result in her getting locked up?

Or is Phelan going to do worse to get rid of her once and for all.

That basement is suddenly feeling very crowded…
