Coronation Street fans were absolutely beside themselves last night when Gail Platt, accompanied by daughter Sarah and mam Audrey, popped in to see Bethany at her new work place.
Sounds perfectly fine so far, right?

Except, as viewers know, Bethany has been working as a lap dancer at a club called Tassels.
The Platt elders found out this week about the teen’s surprising career choice and made the decision to head there themselves to check she was safe.
But Bethany was mortified when she spotted her mum, gran and great-gran gathered round one of the tables, supping Pinot Grigio.

A tipsy Audrey explained to her distraught granddaughter that it was her idea to pop in, having already engaged club owner Lulu in a chat about the club previously being an Italian Restaurant.
In fact, she revealed a memorable experience with a courgette under the very same roof.
It wasn’t long before Lulu asked the trio to leave before calling the youngest member of the clan to her office – where she fired her.
A furious Bethany headed home where she raged at her family and swore she would carry on dancing somewhere else, but not let them find out this time.
In the end, Sarah decided this was actually worse, and she headed back to the club to win her daughter’s job back.
But all fans could talk about was the hilarious sight of the Platt women in a strip club.
“Can’t believe I’m saying this but more scenes like Gail and Audrey in a lap dancing club…please” one amused fan wrote on Twitter.
“Go on Audrey and Gail!! Get up on that stage and show us your tassels #Corrie,” added another.
A third commented: “Catching up with #corrie Audrey and Gail in a lapdance club absolutely hilarious.”
“I’m loving Audrey Roberts in a lap dancing club!” said a fourth.
Fans praised the scene for giving Corrie some much needed light-relief after the hard-hitting stories we’ve had recently.
Today Corrie bosses were forced to staunchly defend Executive Producer Kate Oates, following a report in The Sun that her job was on the line because fans weren’t loving the gritty Phelan murders and Bethany’s grooming plots.
In a statement ITV Studios’ Creative Director John Whiston said: “In the last two years Kate Oates has transformed Coronation Street in the same way as she transformed Emmerdale when she was there.

“The show is now chock full of gripping, talked about storylines, is tackling groundbreaking social issues and, most importantly for a commercial channel such as ITV is delivering strong ratings, Coronation’s audience share is up year on year, an impressive feat for a 57 year old soap on our screens six times a week.”
Coronation Street continues Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
