Coronation Street fans think Billy Mayhew will be Pat Phelan’s next murder victim

He'd better get praying!

Coronation Street’s troubled Billy Mayhew is in dire need of a friend right now, after his desperate battle with drug addiction, but last night (Wednesday 14 March) he got a wolf in sheep’s clothing instead – Pat Phelan.

And fans now fear that Billy’s life is in grave danger!

After Peter and Adam Barlow joined forces to get the disgraced vicar out of prison, they left him in the ‘care’ of Phelan.

Big mistake, guys! Especially as he’d just robbed Phelan’s wife, Eileen.

Billy is a man on the edge, feeling worthless and full of self-pity, so perhaps bullying and aggressive Phelan wasn’t the best choice of companion!

Tasked with giving Billy the mother of all wake-up calls, Phelan – not known for his delicate touch – gave him the dressing down of his life.

And it was painful to watch.

He raged at the vicar, shouting in his face that he doesn’t deserve the love and support he’s being given by Eileen, Summer, and Peter.

Billy begged for advice, whimpering: “Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”

And Phelan ordered him to get on his knees.

Reminding him of his calling, Phelan asked whether he still believes in his God and blasted: “You’re going to beat this, and you know why?

“If you fail again, if you let us down again, it will be the last thing you do.

“I will come for you.” Yikes.

And viewers know he means it!

Understandably, Corrie fans suddenly became concerned that the desperate vicar could become Phelan’s next victim.

As Phelan shook Billy around like a rag doll, fans expressed their fears on social media.

One worried fan wrote: “God help poor Billy.”

Another simply wrote: “Billy is Phelan’s next victim.”

With Phelan due to leave Weatherfield in a climatic showdown in the coming weeks, we’ll have to wait and see who he takes down with him.

One thing we know for sure is that it’s going to be dramatic!
