The grieving five-year-old is being looked after by his aunt, Izzy Armstrong, when he wanders into the road – and into the path of the oncoming Bistro van.
Izzy’s screams alert residents that something is wrong and Robert Preston leaps into action – jumping in between the vehicle and Joseph – but is his heroic action enough to save them both?
As Robert lies in the road, will he be okay?
Chesney and Sinead Tinker are both left stunned by the accident – with Sinead blaming herself.
Fed up of being a put-upon mum, the former factory worker had left Joseph with Izzy and headed to the pub where she spent the afternoon getting sloshed.
She then headed off with her ex, Daniel Osbourne, who took her up to his flat for a coffee, so she could sober up before she had to collect Joseph.
Daniel and Sinead admitted they still had feelings for each other and Daniel even attempted to kiss her.
On her way home, Sinead spots the commotion in the Street and is horrified to discover that Joseph has been involved in an accident.
Tracy Barlow takes great delight in telling Ches that she’d seen Sinead sneaking off to Daniel’s flat shortly before the crash.
Chesney is left absolutely fuming.
Daniel tries his best to convince a guilt-ridden Sinead that the accident wasn’t her fault, but she can’t help blaming herself.
Spotting their intimacy, Ches quietly seethes – does this spell the end for the newly engaged couple?
Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead, previously spoke about her characters torn feelings.
She said about her feelings for Daniel: “There is always going to be a spark between them because of the way that they split up; it was very abrupt because of what he did to his dad.

“She still loves him and he still loves her.”
