You’d think when your husband tries to kill you that you’d stop loving them, but not in Coronation Street.
Now Eileen Grimshaw will reveal she is utterly heartbroken over husband Pat Phelan’s disappearance, despite the fact he’s a serial killer.
While the rest of the cobbles are glad he’s gone, little do they know he’s still alive and waiting to return to Weatherfield, Eileen is devastated.
With her step-daughter Nicola Rubinstein returning to the cobbles for an emotional chat, Eileen opens up about her heartbreak.
In a scene to be shown on Wednesday night, Eileen will have an emotional heart to heart over Phelan’s good side.

She tells Nicola: “The only way I can make sense of it is that I’d never been loved.
“Not like that. Used yes, settled for yes, rebound into, yes.
“Pat made me feel that I was enough, more than enough.
“That’s how stupid I am.”
Nicola tries to make Eileen realise she fell for it too, though not quite to the extent of Eileen’s head-in-the-sand-ness.
And then she has a small bit of silver lining in the giant cloud that is Eileen’s life now.

She makes an emotional offer, saying: “A grandmother? If you still want to be part of the baby’s life, of my life?”
With that Eileen got a much needed boost, but how long will it be before Phelan returns and destroys all the happiness she has rebuilt?
