Coronation Street legend Jim McDonald played by Charles Lawson is being tipped for a huge cobbles comeback.
The speculation started when bosses of the ITV soap confirmed an old favourite was being lined up for a return.

And while a number of names are being thrown around, both fans and bookmakers are tipping Big Jim could be popping up on the Street later this year.
Also, Jim – who is currently residing at Her Majesty’s pleasure – is due for release in 2018.
So it’s gotta be Jim, so it has.
Corrie boss Kate Oates told The Daily Star Sunday: “We are having a discussion about bringing someone back.
“It’s a well-established character – a long-standing name.
“It wouldn’t be for a long period. It would be a short stint.”
And not confirming who this character might be, she added: “I can’t say more than that at this stage but fans should watch this space.”
Odds at Paddy Power put Jim favourite at 1/7, with Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) also in the frame.
A spokesperson told the Star: “It seems very likely Jim will come back at some point. And there’s a strong chance Jason will return.”
We’d be happy with either tbh.

Jim was last seen on the soap in 2014 when he appeared in prison scenes with Peter Barlow who had been wrongly locked up for Tina McIntyre’s murder.
