Martin Platt will soon be returning to Coronation Street after 12 years off-screen.
And while his character’s comeback coincides with son David hiding a tragic secret, actor Sean Wilson has revealed that dad Martin has a few secrets of his own.
His character returns next week when a traumatised David arrives on his doorstep following his harrowing sexual abuse at the hands of Josh Tucker (to be aired Friday 16 March).

David heads to Liverpool to see his dad and get away from Weatherfield – but, most importantly, his attacker.
While David doesn’t tell his dad the real reason for the visit, Martin senses something is wrong and that his son is hiding a dark secret.
In an interview in The Sun, Sean reveals that David isn’t the only one hiding secrets.
Sean, who starred in Corrie for 21 years before leaving in 2005, says that Martin has a secret family that viewers knew nothing about.
He says: “Family wise, he’s with Robyn who he left with to go to Liverpool and they have two children.”
Robyn is also pregnant with their third child.

According to the newspaper, Corrie bosses have no current plans to introduce the characters to Weatherfield.
But who knows what the future may bring!
Sean, now an award winning cheesemaker and chef, also revealed he’d be “definitely up for” returning to the soap for a longer stint in the future.
