There’s heartbreak in store for Mary Taylor in Coronation Street next week when her son Jude and his family change their mind about moving to Weatherfield and decide to head back to South Africa.
Funnily enough, their change of heart isn’t down to the dreary UK weather, it’s all because Jude’s wife, Angie, finds Mary too overbearing and doesn’t feel she has any time with her hubby and baby any more.
Mary Taylor overbearing?? We don’t see it.

At the beginning of the week, Mary is so desperate to spend time with her grandson that she pretty much forces Angie to go out for the day with Toyah so she can babysit.
A frustrated Angie confides in Toyah about how much her MIL is rubbing her up the wrong way.
Mary is distraught when Jude tells her they’ve decided to head back to SA, and begs for one last trip with George before he disappears from her life again.
Jude and Angie agree, but are soon left regretting their decision when Mary doesn’t return on time.
They’re worried they’re going to miss their flight and start to panic about how safe George really is with his grandmother. Do they actually have anything to worry about?
It’s Adam Barlow who finally finds Mary, hunkered down in the flower shop with the baby, waiting to return after Jude and Angie miss their flight.
Adam convinces her to return the tot by warning her that she could lose her family forever if she doesn’t.
A compliant Mary decides that Adam is right and returns George to his parents, apologising profusely for her crazy actions.
But her disappearing act is soon forgotten when Norris notices something seriously wrong with the baby and he’s rushed to hospital.
