And next week, fearing the worst, he forces himself to go to a sexual health clinic for a HIV check up.
With all sorts of scary things whizzing through his mind, David decides there’s one thing he can actually do something about… Find out if Josh has the human immunodeficiency virus. And, more importantly, if he’s passed it on to David.

He quizzes Maria about HIV tests and plucks up the courage to go to a clinic, giving Gary’s name instead of his own.
However, when they ask about his recent sexual history, David bottles it and rushes out of the clinic.
Meanwhile, girlfriend Shona is upset that they’ve not been intimate for ages. David tries to rectify the situation, but just can’t bring himself to go through with it.

Totally confused by his behaviour, Shona packs a bag and begs David to talk to her.
But unable to confide in her, he pushes her away and asks her to leave. Poor Shona heads to Roy for a shoulder to cry on.
Later, David can only watch on crippled by fear as Josh continues to walk around Weatherfield like nothing happened.
He continues to intimate David, and even listens to Shona when she tells him she thinks David will take her back… That is until David shows up at the Rovers with all her belongings in bags…
