It’s been a long-time coming, but the new Corrie set finally makes its on-screen debut tonight!
During the ITV soap’s double bill (Friday 20 April), fans will get a glimpse of the much-anticipated brand new area.
The new buildings – which are home to shops, eateries, a police station and a tram station – took a year to be constructed and were unveiled earlier this year by some of the cast.
However, the set has not yet appeared on our TV screens.
Friday’s episode (20 April) will see Eileen and Abi have a heart to heart in the new urban garden.

And poor Eileen needs a little R&R after discovering that someone has put nails in her car tyres.
Later, unbeknownst to her, someone removes the spare key from under the plant pot.
We hope Pat Phelan isn’t lurking behind one of the bushes?
Keen Corrie followers will know that the new garden area that Eileen and Abi sit in features a poignant memorial bench dedicated to the 22 victims of the Manchester Arena bombing last year – including Corrie superfan Martyn Hett.

At the time, a Corrie statement said: “We wanted to create a colourful and beautiful tribute for those who so sadly lost their lives last year.
“The bench was created by one of our joiners and then Dan Taylor, one of our scenic artists, designed the mural. Artist Ruth Wilkinson was commissioned to bring the design to life in a mosaic.”
The garden is likely to be used in scenes when our favourite characters need some time for quiet reflection. It also has a kids’ corner.
