Fans watched in horror as Josh slipped date rape drug GHB into David’s drink and then manipulated him back to his flat.

Once in Josh’s home, the creepy character leered over a barely-conscious David before dragging him off to the bedroom and throwing him face down on the bed.

Although the actual rape wasn’t shown on screen, many viewers took to social media to discuss how uncomfortable the scenes were to watch.

And over 100 viewers – 122 to be precise – took things a step further and put in official complaints with TV watchdog OfCom.

An OfCom spokesperson told OK! Online: “We’ve had 122 complaints about Friday’s episode of Coronation Street.”

David’s story continues tonight when he wakes up and finds himself alone in Josh’s bed and he’s horrified to realise he’s been raped.

He can’t get his head round what has happened at Josh’s flat.

Back home, Shona’s seething that her fella stayed out all night, but David won’t talk to her. Instead he desperately tries to clean himself after his ordeal, shoving all his clothes in the bin.

And he’s floored when he finds Josh in the kitchen, chatting away to Gail without a care in the world.

The very sight of Josh in his home makes David rush into the garden and throw up.
