Soap favourite Jennie McAlpine has revealed that her character isn’t ‘bombproof’ and hints that her stint on Coronation Street could end at any time.
We hope she’s not trying to tell us something?!
After all, this week sees her character Fiz being betrayed by her hapless partner Tyrone.
In an interview with What’s On TV, Jennie explains that her role on Corrie isn’t ‘bombproof’ and that she signs a contract year on year.

Jennie, who has played Fiz for 17 years, told the magazine: “Bombproof? Me? The thing is we’re contracted year to year. I just met a new guy in the canteen who says he couldn’t believe I’d been here 17 years but that’s nothing compared to Bill Roache [Ken Barlow] who has done 58 years.
While Jennie says she’s still loving the role because she gets “the chance to do so many different things with one character”, it’s clear a potential exit is never far off the cards.
And we wouldn’t be surprised if her feisty character Fiz decided to disappear for a while when she discovers that long-term partner Tyrone has been unfaithful…
Next week, Fiz learns her long-term partner Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) has cheated on her with Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell).
