If Coronation Street star Kate Ford ever gets stuck for things to say at a party, there’s one thing she can always fall back on.
Obviously, she can talk about her career playing one of the Street’s most lively characters, Tracy Barlow – something she’s done since 2002.
But it turns out the 41-year-old has something (arguably) even more impressive on her CV.
Long before she landed her role in Weatherfield, she starred in a pop video – for none other than The Beatles!
Before you start questioning how old she is (The Beatles broke up in 1970, after all), we should point out that the video in question was for the band’s ‘forgotten’ track, Free As A Bird, which was released in 1995.
But it’s still mightily impressive!
The fascinating fact came to light after an eagle-eyed music fan spotted the actress while watching the Fab Four’s clip, then posted his finding on social media.
‘KingMonkey#2’ tweeted: “Just spotted the gorgeous @kateford76 from Coronation Street in #TheBeatles Free As A Bird video. How legendary is that!”

And if there was any doubt that Mr Monkey had been mistaken, it was soon quashed when Kate herself replied to his tweet.
The actress wrote: “It’s a little-known fact! Well spotted!!”
Kate has admitted that acting helped her to get over her split from husband Jon Connerty in 2013 after seven years of marriage.
She told The Sun: “When Jon and I first parted, it was quite hard to put my personal life aside.

“But then it became therapeutic to concentrate on my job. People call it ‘Doctor Theatre’ – when you’re acting, you can’t worry about things.”
The pair have a nine-year-old son together.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
