Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver: “Filming Phelan harbour scenes left me with cuts on my face!”

Actress reveals the lengths she went to for filming...

Coronation Street actress, Sue Cleaver, visited the This Morning sofa earlier today to reveal all the gory details about filming this Friday’s scenes when murderer Phelan finally gets his comeuppance.

The Corrie favourite told This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that while the lighting and setting for the dramatic episode was ‘beautiful’ it was also beyond cold as they filmed until the early hours each day.

While we’ve known for months that Phelan is responsible for some of the most gruesome murders Coronation Street has ever seen, the news that her husband is a killer only reaches Eileen this week.

Sue told This Morning viewers that while Phelan is yet to kill someone he loves, there’s always a first for everything…

“I think he does love her – but he loves her until she crosses him, you know? He’s a psychopath.

“She does think he’s not that bad. She certainly doesn’t think he’s a murderer. He’s never done anything bad to her.

“He’s the only man who has really loved her for her. It’s not on the rebound, and she’s not being used. She just feels she’s enough for him.”

“Basically, it’s all about him as we all know, but it’s a very dangerous situation and you’re going to have to watch. But I will tell you that something happens – to one of us!”
